Applicants for licensure may satisfy the examination requirement of 26 V.S.A. § 1091(3) by offering proof of certification by one of the approved independent, nationally recognized organizations that provide certification for property inspectors. See Proposed Rule 2.3(b).
The following certifying organizations are approved:
- The National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI)
- The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
Applicants who do not hold an active certification from one of the organizations listed above must satisfy the examination requirement of 26 V.S.A. § 1091(3) by passing the National Home Inspector Examination developed by the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors. See Proposed Rule 2.3(a).
