Town clerks receive and store primary ballots (45 days before election)

Town clerks must receive primary ballots (not later than 45 days before the election). Clerks should store the ballots, except those used for sample ballots and early or absentee ballots, in a secure location until the date of the election. 17 V.S.A. § 2479

BCA - may meet to divide JPs into equal pairs to deliver early/absentee ballots

12:00 AM to 12:00 AM

Anytime after the ballots are received, the BCA shall meet and divide the list of voters who are ill or who have a disability into as many equal parts as there are pairs of designated justices of the peace, and deliver those lists to the justices, together with early or absentee ballots and envelopes.  17 V.S.A. §§ 2538(b)  This can happen no later than three days prior to the election.

The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration (VSARA) Reference Room Hours are from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday. The Reference Room is closed on Mondays.

Candidates, PACs, and Parties – campaign finance filing deadline

12:00 AM to 12:00 AM

Candidates that have rasied or spent $500 or more, political committees that have raised and spent $1,000 or more, and political parties that have raised or spent $1,000 or more must register and file campaign finance reports with the Secretary of State.  17 V.S.A. § 2964.   Candidates who have rolled over funds from previous campaigns are required to submit campaign finance reports. 17 V.S.A. § 2964.

Last day - U.S. Congressional candidates – file FEC (July qtr.)

Last day for U.S. Congressional candidates to file FEC quarterly reports for the July quarter (Apr. 1-Jun. 30). 2 U.S.C. § 434(a)(2), 17 V.S.A. § 2103(13)

April FYE Annual Reports are due

All FYE(4) April annual reports are due by midnight today. Failure to file will result in the termination of your business and imposition of a reinstatement fee.

Termination of Lapsed FYE 4 Businesses (Corporations and LLCs)

12:00 AM to 12:00 AM

All FYE (4) April companies who failed to file their annual report by the July 15th deadline will be terminated. To reinstate please login to our Online Business Service Center and click on “File Your Annual Report”
