Secretary Condos Presents VT's Open Meeting Law

6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, at Milton, VT

Secretary of State Jim Condos will be presenting VT’s Open Meeting Law at the Milton Town Offices on Bombardier Drive at 6pm on Monday May 5, 2014.   Continuing his popular “Transparency Tour,” Secretary Condos will discuss the importance of transparency and Vermont's Open Meeting laws.   Secretary Condos states "Transparency in government is an issue that is important to me and to Vermonters across the state.”   The presentation will take place as part of the Selectboard agenda starting at 6pm. Other municipal boards and committees as well as members of the public are invited to attend.   "Meetings held without respecting the details of the law offend our notions of openness and accountability and therefore, our democracy. In Vermont, the people rule, sometimes directly, sometimes through elected or appointed representatives, but always with the benefit of public scrutiny," says Secretary Condos.
