Vermont Votes for Kids: A project of the Vermont Secretary of State

Curriculum Grades 5-8, Student Handout for Lesson 2:
Questions for Who?

Generate a list of people to talk to about the importance of voting as related to the group's benchmark.

Examples:
- Friends
- Relatives
- Elected officials
- Older students (especially those who are about to turn eighteen)

Develop questions to ask the designated list of people. Note: The representatives/liaison might ask other groups what kind of questions they are coming up with.

Students are responsible for interviewing a selected number of the people, using the questions that the group came up with.

Keep a record of who you talked to and the answers to the questions to report back to the class.
