    Scope: Series consists of an card index to employees of the Vermont State Hospital. The index provides information on dates of employment, positions held, education levels, etc. Also included are two volumes related to new hires and terminations. Social security numbers and information about disciplinary actions are exempt from public inspection, as pursuant to 1 V.S.A. §317(c). Index is arranged alphabetically by last name, volumes are arranged chronologically.

    Scope: Series consists of seven ledgers of bills payable from the Vermont State Hospital for goods and services. The records document the scale of the operation of the hospital as well as its financial interaction with the surrounding community. The ledgers provide the date of action, the payee; address of business, item or service, purchase price, terms, date received and date the bill was returned. All volumes contain indexes. Series also contains one volume recording supply accounts from the early years of the hospital's operation.

Includes information on Companies A - M (non-commissioned officers and privates), noncommissioned staff, and Hospital Corps, 1st Regiment Vermont Volunteers. Also contains a record of state pay to Vermonters serving in the 1st U. S. Volunteer Engineers; the 3rd, 5th and 6th U. S. Cavalry; the 11th and 21st U. S. Infantry; U. S. Navy; U. S. Marine Corps; and 4th U. S. Artillery. Entries generally provide name; rank; date of muster-in; dates of promotion, discharge, death, etc.; number of days served prior to muster; record of payments; and date and place of muster-out.
