    Scope: Series consists of photographs created primarily to promote Vermont tourism, though there is documentation of other government activities as well. The photographs were taken by the Department of Tourism and Marketing and its predecessors. There are shots of outdoor sports, fairs, celebrations, parades, the Eastern States Exposition, and scenic landscapes. Governors and other state officials are shown participating in various activities: signing bills, tasting maple syrup, skiing, Green-Up day. There are photos of government buildings and government employees at work. There are farm scenes, scenes of movies made in Vermont, historic sites, town activities and covered bridges. There are also a number of photos of Vermont industries and businesses. The series consists of primarily black and white photographs and negatives, though there are some color slides.

    Scope: Series consists of annual reports, statistics, brochures, correspondence, subject files and publications that document Vermont's tourism industry beginning with its inception in the late 1800's. The records were created by the Department of Tourism and Marketing, its predecessors, and the Vermont Film Bureau. The material consists of statistical information on travel, tourism and recreation in the state, as well as promotional materials. Included are Publicity Department, Department of Conservation and Development, Development Commission publications from 1910 to the 1940's. The Film Bureau records document Vermont's efforts to promote Vermont as a prime filming location to major movie producers.
