The lotting plans divided land among the original proprietors of the town who may have settled on the land or sold it.     Scope: Artificial collection of the State Archives. Series consists of a microfilmed copy of O'Callaghan's work. In 1830, Rev. Jeremiah O’Callaghan became Vermont’s first resident priest from the Diocese of Boston. A native of Cork, Ireland, O’Callaghan’s eccentric notions on the question of usury caused tension between him and the bishop of his native diocese. This led to his relocation to Burlington in 1830 by Bishop Fenwick, where he remained until 1854. O’Callaghan built St. Peter's church in Burlington in 1832, and died in Holyoke, Massachusetts, February 23, 1861.

    Scope: Artificial collection of the State Archives. Series consists of reports, correspondence and maps relating to the boundary line between New York and Vermont. There is an 1814 map and a description of the boundary line created by the commissioners who were appointed in 1812 by the legislatures of Vermont and New York. (In 1812, the Vermont and New York legislatures authorized the erection of monuments of the line established in 1790 between the Massachusetts state line and the Poultney River below Lake Champlain.) There is a 1904 report and correspondence concerning the 1903-1904 survey of the boundary. There is correspondence relating to the 1980 survey and a 1985 addendum to the report entitled "State Line Perambulation Survey 1980, New York-Vermont".
