The case files are arranged into three date ranges: 1781-1914, 1914-1939, and 1939-1959. Records in the first period are arranged in order of the corresponding volumes they are recorded in (PRO-WRP-002). Records in the second period are arranged by first letter of the last name of the decedent and case number—case numbers start over again for each letter. The third period stopped separating surnames and the records are arranged by inclusive case numbers. Many case files were re-filed due to the separation of case type in 1996.
