Fees:
As of July 1, 2000 the fee to file an ASSIGNMENT was increased by $5.00. The fee to file a standard size document is now $15.00 and the fee to file a non-standard size assignment is now $20.00. (SEE BELOW)**A standard size original financing statement (UCC-1) is $10.00 for the first debtor and $2.00 for each additional debtor listed.
A non-standard size original financing statement (UCC-1) is $15.00 for the first debtor and $2.00 for each additional debtor listed.
A standard size continuation, amendment, or subordination (UCC-3) is $10.00 for the first debtor and $2.00 for each additional debtor listed.
A non-standard size continuation, amendment, or subordination (UCC-3) is $15.00 for the first debtor and $2.00 for each additional debtor listed.
To conduct a search (UCC-11) and issue a certificate the fee is $10.00 per debtor.
To furnish a copy of any filed financing statement the fee is $2.00 per page unless the financing statement or page attached to it is more than 5" x 8", in which case the fee is $5.00 per page.
For the purpose of determining fees the names of a husband and wife are considered as one name and the name of a partnership together with the names of up to 2 partners is considered as one name.
There is no fee to file a termination statement.
** Vermont recently passed the new Article 9 law (Act 106) which will take effect on July 1, 2001. One of the major changes will involve eventual acceptance of UCC filings on-line by electronic media. Also the form and fee has changed.
When the law takes effect next year, on July 1, 2001, the only acceptable form will be the National Standard Form (the smaller 5" x 8" form will not be accepted) - thus eliminating the non-standard filing form fee.
As of September 1, 2000 the "National Form" will become the "standard form" and the $10.00 "standard" filing fee applies. The smaller 5"x 8" form will become the "non-standard form" and the $15.00 "non-standard" filing fee applies.
DON'T PANIC!!
We will continue to accept the smaller 5" x 8" form until July 1, 2001 and we will issue reminders (not rejections) regarding the fee. This is a transition period and we know it will take some time!!This office does not supply the UCC forms. Forms should be ordered from your usual forms supplier. Please note that if you create your own laser printed form, it must be identical to the approved National Form, and you will need to include one original and two exact copies when filing with this office.
