Vermont Secretary of State - Web Site Help
General:
This web site is designed to improve the accessibility of mainstream browsers so
that people with hearing, cognitive, physical, and visual disabilities will have
improved access through the use of assistive technologies (e.g., screen
magnifiers, screen readers, speech recognition software, alternative keyboards,
Braille devices, etc.). Pages displaying the 'W3C" logo meet or
exceed Level A certification as defined by the
World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) standards.
Navigation within the web site is accomplished through the use
of a standardized menu system. The menu's design goal is to have any
document within the web site easily accessible, usually within 4 clicks, from
any other document on the web site.
Standard
Conventions: All web pages within the Vermont Secretary of
State's web site incorporate a standard 'Header' and 'Footer'.
The 'Header' is a menu system displayed on the top of every
web page, except pages and forms specifically designed for printing, allowing
'One Click' access to the 4 divisions that are part of The Secretary's web
site and The Secretary's web site itself. The 4 divisions are
Archives,
Corporations,
Elections and
Professional Regulation. The
Secretary's portion of the web site is broken down into
Other Programs and
The Secretary's Desk.
Publications and The Kids Page
are two other sections of The Secretary's web site that are accessible from
the footer. Displayed on the left side of the 'Header' is the Vermont
Coat of Arms which is linked to the Vermont
State Page allowing for quick access to other portions of Vermont State
Government.
The 'Footer' of every web page, except pages and forms
specifically designed for printing, allows 'One Click' access to a variety of
important links that a visitor to our web site might want immediate and easy
access to. Included in the 'Footer' are links to important interactive
features, some of which are highlighted below...
Municipal
Information gives you access to Brochures and other publication
available on the web site.
Databases links to a page allowing you to download, search or display
information located in databases maintained by the Secretary's office.
Vermont Law is a page linking to several sources on the Internet.
This page gives you easy access to many resources without having to search
for their source.
The
Site Search
is a comprehensive search of all materials and pages located on the
Secretary's web site. This search includes all materials from the 4
major divisions and The Secretary's site as well as documents.
Specialized searches are also available within specific subject matter such
as The
Opinions Newsletter or Division Specific like the one available in
Professional
Regulation.
Feedback
is a page available from any web page displaying the 'Footer' allowing you
to make comments, suggestions or otherwise submit feedback to the Web
Master. A major goal of this Web Site is to provide useful information
to visitors. The feedback page automatically includes information
about the web page that was being viewed when the feedback link was
selected. Visitors should be specific if their comments are not
related to the page being viewed at the time feedback is selected. If
a visitor to our site would like a reply to their comments they should
include contact information in their comments.
General
Conventions: Each division has its' own 'Header' which
appears immediately below the primary 'Header'. Specifics about the
layout and design of Division Headers can be viewed by selecting the appropriate
link below.
Each Division and The Secretary's web site also incorporates
additional 'Footer' information above the primary 'Footer'. T.
