Does Vermont register Service Marks?
No, but you can register as a trade name.

Can a Trademark be assigned and is there a special form to do so?
Yes, a trademark may be assigned to another party.

There is no special form, simply list all pertinent information on your letterhead, properly signed and mail it to the Secretary of State, Corporations Division. There is a fee to assign a mark to another person.

How long will it take to process an application?
Normal turn around time for processing applications takes 3 to 5 working days.

Can an application be faxed or filed online?
No, because the application requires an original signature and the fee must be attached.

Do you take credit cards?
Not yet, but we do offer Draw Down Accounts. A draw down account is a fund set up in advance - when you file an application you simply indicate that the fee should be drawn from your account.
